Our focus on product innovation, safety standard revisions and evolving industry demands, as well as our close relationships with manufacturers, enable our customers to purchase the products best suited to their needs. And the personalized approach of our sales team helps customers define the products and procedures necessary to achieve safe work environments that are compliant with industry standards.

We strive to expand our manufacturers’ distribution channels by focusing on high impact engagement and end-user marketing while maintaining key distributor partnerships. The WSA Legacy
Western Safety Associates was founded by Gene Hall in 1974, who began a legacy of superior safety sales support beginning in California and eventually expanding to include Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii. Steve Hanson joined the WSA executive team as a principal in 1984. Under Steve’s guidance,
WSA continued to grow, quickly becoming a leading manufacturer rep firm.

As WSA advanced into the 21st Century, Jeff Himes and Chris Duran joined the team and developed a strong professional relationship while learning the safety industry under Steve’s direction. In 2015, Steve became the sole owner of Western Safety Associates and the company continued to flourish, becoming the top-performing safety rep group in the country.

In 2019, Jeff and Chris expanded their influence to become WSA executive principals. Their commitment to excellence has allowed the company to grow,
demonstrating their ability to respond to changes in industry standards, fluctuating markets, and unpredictable world events, including the Covid-19 pandemic. Sadly, early 2023 brought Steve Hanson’s unexpected passing, an event that deeply impacted the entire WSA team. Out of the grief has come a commitment to honor Steve’s memory as WSA strives to continue the legacy he began by moving forward with the same vision, integrity and dedication that Steve modeled for so many years.
